You exist to glorify Jesus, but you can’t do that without the work of the Holy Spirit. And the Holy Spirit exists to glorify Jesus — and yet doesn’t do that without us.

God uses everyday people, charged by the power of his Spirit, to bring others to see the beauty and splendor of his Son. God uses normal people like us to build his kingdom.

You are a chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people for his own possession, that you may proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. (1 Peter 2:9)

But our mission isn’t just to do good deeds, but to proclaim. We can’t witness effectively if we expect others to simply observe our lives and notice Jesus. They will only see Jesus in us if they hear about him from us. There is no gospel without words.
