About Women
Part of the series Message Excerpt
Clothing, jewelry, and hair can never secure the beauty that God himself calls beautiful. Christian women are clothed with glory, but not primarily the glory of outward adornment. It is a beauty that is at the same time much more distant and much more personal.
Christian women are clothed with a distinct beauty that comes from beyond the world, from God himself, and takes its shape on her very soul, in the “hidden person of the heart." The “gentle and quiet spirit” of hope that is born from the gospel is a beauty which the world can neither know nor imitate — this is the beauty that is precious to God (1 Peter 3:4).
