By John Piper About Hope
Part of the series Message Excerpt

If you are in Christ, you have reasons for hope — this is what Christianity means. You may not be an outstanding communicator, or a brilliant apologist, or have an answer for every theological or historical question concerning Christianity. But God, in his mercy, placed hope in your heart by causing you to be born again (1 Peter 1:3), and therefore, any true believer has real reasons for hope.

Your hope does not rest in your ability to communicate it to those who ask you “for a reason for the hope that is in you” (1 Peter 3:15). With a good conscience, then (1 Peter 3:16), our call is not to obligate belief but to share our glorious reasons for hope with those who don’t yet know it.
